Possible volunteer opportunities
Our faculty often look for real world representatives to come and speak with students about their professional experience as guest speakers, or to interact as a mock client for a class project. Centers, schools, and departments may also organize career- or industry-centered discussions.
Panel discussions allow students the opportunity to hear from seasoned professionals about their own career paths, and ask questions about anything from finding their first job to the ins and outs of working in a particular field.
Networking events and information sessions allow students to meet and speak with professional representatives from a specific field or industry and are common across IU's campuses.
Allow students to experience on-site learning with individual job shadowing or a group tour of your place of business.
Working with professionals and organizations offers students valuable experience, knowledge, and skills. Mentoring also allows you to introduce your business or organization to them in a fun and fulfilling way.
Help students hone their career skills by conducting practice interviews and offering constructive feedback.
Help provide constructive feedback to students on how to improve their resume. Students bring their resumes, you review with them, and provide immediate feedback.
